Slowly, but surely, DASA has been gaining more recognition in the London Underground scene. As a Slovak native, she moved to London in 2016 to study music at Goldsmiths University, and has since been involved in a variety of music projects. She has performed at cult venues such as the Windmill or the Sebright Arms, sharing bills with artists like Katy J Pearson, piglet, or Enjoyable Listens. In 2019 she decided to take her own venture as an artist and now has a handful of original material under her belt. This includes debut EP ‘Come Through’, her contribution to the Sad Machine compilation with the song ‘Forget it (if u can)’, and the synth-driven Slovak cover ‘Až Príde Večer’. Her debut EP is a result of a two year experimentation in the studio with musicians such as Seth Evans (of black midi), long-time collaborator Mat Roberts, and producer and engineer Nathan Ridley. The themes explored on her debut EP circle around relationships and the impacts of spending a life jumping between countries, longing for a sense of home, and questioning one’s sense of identity. Since the release, DASA has gained support from the popular Slovak radio station ‘Radio FM’ and was nominated as ‘Best New Artist’ by the Radiohead Awards.
